Ukrainian language classes for adults and youth (at least 12 years of age, preferably accompanied by a parent) will take place Wednesday evenings, September 10 – December 3, 2014.   Classes offered are:


Beginner (Level I) – For those who have no or very limited knowledge of the Ukrainian language.  Class time will be distributed evenly among reading, conversation and grammar. Students will learn to read Ukrainian.
Time:  7:45pm – 9:00pm


Level II – For those who are able to read Ukrainian and have some vocabulary.  Proceeding generally from the Beginner I level, but tailored to the level of the participants, emphasis of the course is conversation, vocabulary acquisition, and using grammar correctly.
Time:  6:30pm – 7:45pm


Level III – For those who have some understanding of verb conjugations and noun declensions. Proceeding generally from the Beginner II level, but tailored to the level of the participants, course will continue to focus on conversation, vocabulary acquisition, and grammar – especially nouns and verbs.
Time: 6:30pm – 7:45pm


Simply, Conversation – A class for those individuals who may have learned Ukrainian in their childhood or at some other point and would like an opportunity to refresh and practise their skills. No grammar or reading instruction will be provided. The class will be conducted in Ukrainian. Conversational topics will be decided upon by the participants along with the facilitator, who is a native Ukrainian speaker. Individuals considering this class should have sufficient knowledge of Ukrainian to contribute to and participate in basic conversation.
Time:  7:45pm – 9:00pm

Participants in all classes may continue for a second semester, commencing in January, 2015. Re-registration will be required for each semester.

FEES / CLASS:   Adults $135.00; Youth $75.00. No refunds or pro-rating of fees for missed classes or dropping out of the session after the first class. Fees are not transferable from one session to another.
